• Welcome to South Metro Destination ImagiNation!

Destination ImagiNation®, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization devoted to teaching three essential skills: Creativity, Teamwork and Problem Solving. Destination ImagiNation promotes these skills through its global problem solving program and tournaments for students of all ages in the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. In 2010/11 Colorado hosted 931 registered teams, or roughly 6,517 Colorado students. Our main program is an unconventional team learning experience where student teams all over the world solve mind-bending Challenges. Teams are tested to think on their feet, work together as a team, learn critical thinking skills, and devise original solutions that satisfy the requirements of their Challenge. Participants gain more than basic knowledge and skills - they learn how to unleash their imaginations and take unique and risky approaches to problem solving!

We invite you to join us make creativity happen!

Colorado Gives Day

We are excited to announce that Destination ImagiNation Colorado has been approved as a “Giving First” organization and will be participating in the Colorado Gives Day event on December 6, 2011.

On December 6, 2011, Colorado citizens will come together again to raise millions of dollars for nonprofits like ours. Last year, the goal to raise $1 million for Colorado charities was exceeded — $8.7 million was distributed instead!

Destination ImagiNation Colorado has a goal of raising $5,000 this first year of our participation. That $5,000 will help train team managers across the state, provide seed money to start a creativity day camp this summer, and help us reach communities and students across Colorado who may not have access to the Destination ImagiNation program.

Please include us in your holiday giving plans!

Team Manager Training – Where All The Cool Kids Will Be!

Yes, we are asking you to give up a Saturday. We know you’re busy, the kids have a ton of stuff to do, not to mention the laundry, and the dust bunnies cowering in the corners that need to be vacuumed. We know you’d rather sleep in….. and honestly so would we. We also know that in order for your teams to get the very best out of the Destination ImagiNation program we need to host a Team Manager Training. Not just for the new Team Managers but our experienced Team Managers need to hear about all the changes and learn the ins and outs of this years challenges as well. So, we ask that you ignore those annoying dust bunnies, ask the kids to find other rides to their Saturday activities and join us. Besides…. we’d hate to host a training and be the only ones there!

  • November 5th at Eldorado K-8, 3351 S. Indiana Street, Superior. (map)
  • January 7th at South HS, 1700 East Louisiana Avenue, Denver, CO (map)

Time: 7:45 until 3:00

Agenda: Team-Manager-Training-2010-2011

The agendas for these trainings will be identical. You will:

  • Learn about DI
  • Meet your Challenge Master
  • Practice Instant Challenges
  • Choose classes on Creative Problem Solving, Storytelling, Conflict Management and many other topics chosen from Team Manager suggestions.

Can you be a Team Manager and not attend a training?

Of Course…. but why would you want to? Why would you miss all the great information to give your team the best advantage? Why would you make the Destination ImagiNation year harder on yourself by missing all the wonderful tips and trick? Why miss hanging out with other adults taking on the same challenge your team has taken on?

Best of all…. we’re just a really fun group!
